where do the instructors for the honors academies come from?
All of our instructors are specially chosen by Strnaford Pre-Collegiate Studies. The instructors have either obtained their graduate degrees or are in the midst of pursuing them. They are selected not just for their knowledge in the course material they are teaching, but for their ability to interact with young students.
where are the teaching assistants from?
Our teaching assistants are selected from the local universities, and are either undergraduates or graduate students majoring in the subject matter for which they are teaching.
Is there transportation provided for the students?
V-Campus does not arrange for transportation to and from the course venue. If you require directions to the venue, please contact us for assistance.
are there housing arrangements for international students?
For students traveling to Singapore to attend the Honors Academies, V-Campus can arrange for your stay at one of our partner hotels or at a boarding school hostel. Do let us know at least one month prior to your expected date of arrival in Singapore so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
will refreshments be provided during the breaks?
Classroom breaks are decided at the instructors' discretion, but refreshments are not provided. Students are allowed to bring their own snacks and drinks to be consumed during break time or lunch break.
is lunch provided?
Lunch is provided daily, and we are able to provide a vegetarian option for those who have any dietary restrictions. Other options are not available at this time. The full cost of lunch is absorbed by V-Campus and is not included in the course fees.
What happens if i need to withdraw after being accepted?
If you have applied and been accepted for the Honors Academies and need to withdraw, you will need to notify us in writing (either via email or by post) by the application deadline in order to obtain the full refund of the course fees. Withdrawals made after the registration deadline will not qualify for any refund.
what happens if i miss several days of class?
Students will be considered as having successfully completed the course if they attend a minimum of 70% of the classes. On days when they miss a class, they should inform either their instructor or teaching assistants who will then arrange for the day's work to be sent to them via email.
how will students benefit from attending the honors academies?
The academic programming provided by Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies follows their own curriculum. While we do not prepare students with examinations specifically in mind, the material is designed to enhance students' existing knowledge in their subject of choice and to teach them material not typically taught in a classroom setting at their grade level.
how do students qualify for the honors academies?
We assess students using a combination of their latest school reports and writing samples. It is important to ensure the suitability of the students for their selected courses so that they will be able to reap maximum benefits from them.
